A Guide to Euridge Manor Weddings.
What can I possible say about Euridge Manor Weddings… they’re my absolute favourite. One look at our instagram and I think that’s clear. There are so many wonderful things about Euridge Manor as a wedding venue. Firstly, and most obviously, it’s absolutely stunning. Everywhere you look there’s another picture perfect spot. The flexibility makes it a dream to work at for us. But, the flexibility is also something that can be widely overwhelming, and that’s why we end up planning so many Euridge Manor weddings for couples! With that in mind, this guide aims to walk you through some of the more complex part of planning a wedding at Euridge, and how best to use the space.
Deciding on spaces for your Euridge Manor wedding.
This one is super hard because, as I already mentioned, there are so many good spots. So let’s break it down. You need to identify an area for:
Ceremony
Drinks reception
Dinner
Post dinner cocktails (optional, but an addition we love at Euridge)
Evening party
The ceremony.
You’re allowed to get married anywhere outside in the UK as long as the venue has a licence, which is the only good thing COVID did for the wedding industry. Of course you have the boathouse, the staple of Euridge Manor weddings, and in my opinion, the best option if you have 80 ish guests or less. If you have more than 80 guests, although the boathouse does work, the upper level is a bit far away. With that in mind, I’d suggest the ballroom lawns or chandelier arch, and having your drinks reception at the boathouse instead.
The drinks reception.
For your drinks reception, you have another hard choice. I think the best options are the top of the boathouse or the ballroom lawns, and this is a time in the day you don’t really want to move people. I know that’s hard because there are so many beautiful areas to explore, but you want to keep everyone together at this point to ease into the day.
Dinner.
Next up, we have dinner. Now, if you want round tables, your best option is the ballroom. If you want round tables outside, I would choose the space by the kitchen, although it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing. This is perhaps the only suggestion which I haven’t tried, as I think there are many better choices!
If you’re having long tables, my first choice will always be the rose pergolas. It’s the epitome of Euridge Manor weddings for me. No matter your guest numbers, this will work. We’ve had 80 dine here, and we’ve had 150 split across both levels.
Optional cocktail hour.
Next, we move onto the cocktail hour. We always like to add this in at Euridge Manor weddings because 1) who doesn’t love a pre boogie espresso martini and 2) if you end up dining in the ballroom due to weather or choice, it gives us an extra bit of time to reset the ballroom. My absolute all time favourite spot is the orangery terrace. It’s such an underrated space that’s quite disconnected at all other points in the day, but works perfectly here as you have steps which connect the spaces at the back of the ballroom.
Dancing.
I’m sure you’ll be glad to know at this point that this bit is easy. Due to the noise restrictions for Euridge Manor weddings, you have to be inside the ballroom. Easy peasy! But of course, there are 10000 different floor plans and layouts, but that’s probably one for another day.
Things to think about.
The only thing to consider with all of these options is we’re relying on the good old British weather not being a pile of sh*t, or a more recent problem, it being too hot. There’s very little built in shade at Euridge, and that’s definitely something to keep in mind throughout your planning.
Of course, there’s so much more to think about, and this is just a starting point, but hopefully that gives you a flavour of how to use the space at a Euridge Manor wedding. It goes without saying that we love weddings at Eurdige, and would love to hear from you if you’re looking for help with your planning.
